MATTEW BINDON'S DISCIPLESHIP CEREMONY

A special highlight of the China Tour 2012 was Matt Bindon’s discipleship ceremony to mark his official discipleship with our own Shifu Shi Yan Ming. The ceremony was held in the Da Xiong Bao Ding Hall of the North Shaolin Temple. Made before the three divine Buddhas, Matt’s moving declaration of faith to his teacher was witnessed by the Shifus, staff and international students of the Centre of Beijing International Shaolin Culture.

The ceremony was a great success. Matt was awarded an official document to mark the occasion and was bestowed with his Buddhist name: Shi Heng Liang. We warmly congratulate Matt as a new chapter of his training career begins. Matt is Shi Yan Ming’s first disciple.
